My path into herbalism began through my background in horticulture and restoration ecology, where I learned how plants grow and thrive in both cultivated and wild landscapes. It wasn’t until my own grief and healing journey that I felt the call to come to know the plants on a deeper level. During my herbalism training I began to understand their role in restoring balance not just within landscapes, but also within the human ecosystem.Show More

I am obsessed with understanding the body and what impacts it. I am always asking WHY It is my mission to help women understand their body better, how everyday choices impact their symptoms/health/genetics, and how we can use nutrition, lifestyle, systems biology, nutrients, and herbs to shift the terrain in the body towards longtime resilience and vibrant health. I believe there is a missing gap in our healthcare system and I am doing what I can to fill it. I originally went back to school after undergrad and completed Premed requirements but decided I was more interested in a natural approach to health. I spent almost a decade at that time working in the birth world as a doula, a prenatal/postpartum yoga therapist, and a childbirth educator. Despite great docs, I noticed that women weren't being educated and empowered about their bodies and root causes were not being investigated. During this time my husband was in medical school and the medical professionals I was engaging with both socially and at work would often disregard or belittle nutrition, herbs, and lifestyle medicine and I got fed up and fired up. I was hell bent on going back to school to learn the science of how the body works, what drives health and disease, what causes symptoms, what impacts our genetic expression, how are our body systems connected, and how can we impact health with food, lifestyle, nutrients, etc. My frustration motivated my return to school, inspired my life's work, and fuels my passion around educating, supporting, and empowering women to understand their body and take smart steps to resolve symptoms, drive health, and turn on healthy genes. When not supporting women to feel better I am often out in the wild playing in the mountains, sitting by a crackling fire, or gazing at the stars. I live with my family in Truckee and believe in the power of the wild and the kitchen.Show More
Herbalism
My interest in aromatherapy began in my younger teen years. I felt a deep calling and connection to plants and quickly noticed the immense benefits it could have on our minds, bodies and emotional well-being. In later years, my desire to create skincare manifested while working on a regenerative cattle ranch near Half Moon Bay, CA. I grew a passion for the animals that roamed the land and began to learn the art of making beef tallow for both consumption & body care.Show More

I am Katie Rose.
I am Katie Rose. I learned early that the land speaks in stones, feathers, leaves, and soil—if you take the time to listen. Childhood curiosity became devotion, and devotion became study: UC Berkeley, Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, GUMP Research Station in French Polynesia, Charles Darwin Research Station in the Galápagos, the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Research in Germany. Across continents, I witnessed the subtle conversations between humans and the earth—the pulse of life beneath our feet, the wisdom that flows through water, wind, roots, and wings. I returned home to Big Sur, to the place that first shaped me, to weave science, ancestral knowing, and lived experience into Woven Herbs, an education tea business that weaves our wild native medicines into healing teas, helping my community learn to recognize that medicine grows abundantly and wildly, and is here for us, always. Here at Woven, healing is a remembering. Remembering the rhythms of our bodies, the medicine of plants, bees, and minerals, the quiet intelligence that whispers beneath habit, depletion, and forgetting. With Woven Herbs, I work with plants—herbalism, foraging, tea ceremonies, herbal astrology readings, forest bathing, wilderness therapy, guided foraging hikes—learning their language, their medicine, their ethics of reciprocity. Independently, I work with bees—apitherapy, hive stewardship, bee medicine, dreaming with the bees—receiving their teaching of harmony, vigilance, devotion, and reciprocity. I work with cycles—new moon and full moon ceremonies, women’s circles, menstrual cycle coaching, womb wisdom tea blends, seasonal rituals to honor equinoxes and solstices—inviting the body to remember its innate rhythm and connection to the unseen forces. I work with reflection and guidance—dream therapy, life and health coaching, nature therapy—holding space for insight, integration, and gentle transformation. I witness the softening of chronic stress, the restoration of sleep and digestion, the release of dependence, the return of energy and clarity. Healing emerges as relationship: to self, to land, to breath, to the threads that connect us all. It is an honor to hold ceremonial space within Healer Hive, to walk alongside those who seek to root back into vitality, rhythm, and belonging, and to remember, together, that medicine is all around us, alive, and generous.Show More

Ayurveda
Sage Ardas is a holistic healer, advanced health coach, and energy worker offering a deeply integrative approach to wellness. Her work weaves together reflexology, cupping, and energetic alignment to elevate, balance, and harmonize the body’s natural frequencies. Drawn to family and community wellness, Sage began as a postpartum doula before earning her Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Oakland, CA. Her studies and travels through China and her exploration of herbalism, Ayurveda, homeopathy, Kundalini Yoga and Tibetan medicine deepened her understanding of the universal principles of healing and guided her back to her ancestral lineage of healers. In her years practicing in a bustling downtown clinic, Sage discovered her passion for reproductive health, fertility, and wellbeing. Her master’s thesis focused on a healing protocol for PTSD, inspired by personal loss and her desire to support veterans, mental health and trauma survivors. After a long, difficult birth left her with mobility challenges, Sage’s own healing journey took on new depth. Through a blend of physical rehabilitation, energetic medicine, and ancestral guidance, she reclaimed her strength and purpose. Now a devoted mother of two, Sage’s work centers on optimizing the body’s natural cycles, awareness and understanding hormones, honoring postpartum recovery, and empowering others to reconnect with their innate rhythm of healing and finds deep fulfillment in supporting her community.Show More

Acupressure
As a youth, I suffered from chronic stomach pain and other maladies. At age 16, I went to a traditional western allopathic doctor. He spoke with me for twenty minutes. I was asked questions such as “What type of recreational drugs have you tried?” and “Where is your pain?” I was not asked ‘Do you exercise?’ ‘How much fruits and vegetables do you eat?’ ‘Do you sleep well?’ ‘What do you do to create happiness in your life?’ The doctor then prescribed me four pharmaceuticals. They were Celebrex for the back pain, Zantac for the stomach pain, Valium, and Zoloft for I can only imagine why. I felt that the pharmaceuticals were not going to heal me but just mask the symptoms. I was offended to be only offered drugs without any help or advice towards health and wellness. I refused them and started to look into alternative health modalities. Six years later, I was referred to an amazing acupuncturist and gifted healer. It was the first time someone understood how sick I was since their diagnostic methods could see past my outer “healthy” appearance. The acupuncturist diagnosed and treated the imbalances that were ruining a lot of my days. The treatments and information changed my life and inspired me to discover how it all works. Now by sharing my knowledge and experience with others, I can help ignite the light inside of them, to find the desire to heal. I can do this by bringing my patients the tools and power needed to create wellness and health in their own lives. This is done by integrating the Eastern and Western medical systems, frequency medicine and patient education, thus creating high-quality true health care.Show More

Forest Bathing
I didn't come to this work through a classroom— came to it through the land. Living in the mountains around Lake Tahoe, I started spending time with the plants in a different way. Not just seeing them, but learning them. Harvesting, sitting, listening. That turned into foraging, then into distillation, then into creating medicine I could actually feel working in my own body Over time, this became a practice of slowing down and remembering— how to care for the body, how to regulate the nervous system, how to come back to something real. I've studied herbalism and plant-based formulation, and trained in distillation with Ann Harman, but most of what l offer comes from direct experience working with plants through the seasons, making medicine by hand, and using it in my own daily rituals. This work is inspired by the belief that the body knows how to heal when it's supported properly. Plants, earth, breath, and intention all play a role in that. Whether it's through forest therapy, aromatherapy, plant medicine, or ritual, what l offer is a space for people to slow down, reconnect, and feel supported in their body again.Show More
