Devorah is a yoga teacher and yoga therapist and has been immersed in the study and practice of mind-body healing for the past 35 years. She is authorized in the Ashtanga tradition and has been traveling to India for further study since 1993. Her greatest influence on the Ashtanga path is Dena Kingsberg. Devorah has had the privilege of one to one study in Sanskrit and Yoga Shastras with her teachers Dr. Richard Miller, Kirinavali, and Dr. M.A. Jayashree from Mysore, India. Devorah is a Vedic recitation and chanting teacher and continues to advance her veda studies under the guidance of her teacher Shantala Sriramaiah. In addition to her weekly classes in the Mysore method, Devorah offers courses and immersions that weave together asana, Vedic wisdom and the Tantric teachings of Yoga Nidra. She has a gift of offering these ancient teachings in an applicable way. She also has a thriving private practice, where she works one to one supporting students toward greater Self understanding and transformative healing. I consider it a great privilege to be invited to participate in another's healing journey, and over my two decades of teaching I have found an approach that serves as my guide.Show More

Ayurveda
I am obsessed with understanding the body and what impacts it. I am always asking WHY It is my mission to help women understand their body better, how everyday choices impact their symptoms/health/genetics, and how we can use nutrition, lifestyle, systems biology, nutrients, and herbs to shift the terrain in the body towards longtime resilience and vibrant health. I believe there is a missing gap in our healthcare system and I am doing what I can to fill it. I originally went back to school after undergrad and completed Premed requirements but decided I was more interested in a natural approach to health. I spent almost a decade at that time working in the birth world as a doula, a prenatal/postpartum yoga therapist, and a childbirth educator. Despite great docs, I noticed that women weren't being educated and empowered about their bodies and root causes were not being investigated. During this time my husband was in medical school and the medical professionals I was engaging with both socially and at work would often disregard or belittle nutrition, herbs, and lifestyle medicine and I got fed up and fired up. I was hell bent on going back to school to learn the science of how the body works, what drives health and disease, what causes symptoms, what impacts our genetic expression, how are our body systems connected, and how can we impact health with food, lifestyle, nutrients, etc. My frustration motivated my return to school, inspired my life's work, and fuels my passion around educating, supporting, and empowering women to understand their body and take smart steps to resolve symptoms, drive health, and turn on healthy genes. When not supporting women to feel better I am often out in the wild playing in the mountains, sitting by a crackling fire, or gazing at the stars. I live with my family in Truckee and believe in the power of the wild and the kitchen.Show More

Jenay Aiksnoras, E-RYT500, M.S. Counseling has been teaching Yoga since 2005. Jenay's story began on a farm in Connecticut. She grew up actively engaging outdoors. When she moved to Boston for college, her love of the outdoors drew her to her school's outing club. A class audit during her undergraduate studies introduced her to the practice of yoga, untimately helping her discover the key to reducing physical pain and feeling well while playing outside. At that time there were few places to practice. She explored various studios and lineages including svarupa, vinyasa and Iyengar. Through consistent practice, Yoga asana helped to heal back pain resulting from bulging discs and scoliosis. It wasn't until she began practicing in New York with Amy Pearce-Hayden that she truly began to understand the depth of yoga. Jenay believes that asana, like every limb of the eight (Asta Anga) is just one aspect of the practice. To access Yoga you must address the entire system. During every practice she guides you'll be directed to engage in svadhyaya, consider sankalpa and connect with your Self.Show More
