My life took a pivotal turn at the age of 21 when I underwent a major pelvic reconstructive surgery. Every phase of my recovery was challenging. The structure of my pelvis forever changed, causing a ripple effect of tightened muscles, compensation issues, nerve damage, and major scar tissue adhesions in my upper leg and abdomen. ​ ​I visited countless bodyworkers to find relief, and learned how to listen to my body. I changed my major to study more in school, and realized I want to help others with challenges like mine. I enrolled in massage school and developed a strong foundation in bodywork, then hit the road for a year, traveling through remote villages of South East Asia where I learned ancient forms of bodywork and herbalism in local temples.
