Your photos should answer four questions for the person deciding whether to book you:
Personal photos are always best. They show the real you and your work, build authentic connection so clients see exactly who they are booking, and show your unique style and what makes you different.
Take professional headshots with a warm genuine smile, a clear view of your face, and natural lighting. Show yourself in action: demonstrating your work, hands working, meditating, concentrating, or explaining things to clients. Include personality photos where you are laughing and being genuine, behind the scenes preparing for sessions, or with things you love (not just the objects alone).
Always take photos during the day (10am to 2pm is best) for natural lighting, and clean up first: declutter everything, organize supplies neatly, add fresh touches like flowers. For small spaces, use the 0.5x lens on your phone to make rooms look spacious, stand in corners for better angles, and minimize furniture temporarily. No dedicated space? Show yourself in your favorite local nature spot or beautiful outdoor locations where you feel at home and can create sacred space.
Show your professional setup with clean tools and equipment, and capture yourself actually doing the work, whether that is hands positioned for healing, leading meditation, or facilitating groups. Include happy clients after sessions looking relaxed and glowing (with their permission), along with any before and after improvements or testimonial moments. When in doubt, just show a photo of you and your beautiful smiling face.
