Healing Touch

My path as a healer began when I was in college at UC Berkeley, studying philosophy and living at a 60-person vegan co-op. At 19, I stepped into a manager role at my co-op that involved supporting my housemates with interpersonal conflict. There, I first held space for people to express their emotions and needs openly—and witnessed how honesty and vulnerability could transform tension into connection. I felt deeply aligned in that role and knew this was work I was called to, so I went on to complete a Conflict Mediation training to deepen my skills and experience. Years later, seeking support for my own anxiety, perfectionism, and over-functioning, I struggled to find a therapist through my insurance who felt like the right fit. Wanting a body-based approach for deeper transformation, I began working with a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I immediately resonated with my coach, and felt relief to finally be working with someone who I didn't have to explain myself to, and who brought in expertise beyond my own experience. Over time, I built a deeper sense of embodied safety, expanded my emotional range, and started to shift my chronic pattern of constantly being busy but never feeling like I was doing enough. Now, I am so much more in tune with my body's wisdom and feel more spaciousness, possibility, and empowerment in my life. Grateful for the profound impact this work had on me, I pursued training in Somatic Experiencing myself.
